Cancellation Policy

I understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life.  Client care & experience matter - to ensure all clients are treated equitably and are able to receive their treatments in a timely manner, New Moon Energy & Massage Therapy LLC honors the following policies:

24 hour advance notice is required when canceling or rescheduling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give us 24 hours advance notice you will be charged the full amount of your appointment.

No-shows

Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show.” They will be charged for their “missed” appointment.

Late Arrivals

If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours.  Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment.   Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session.  Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time.

Therapist's Right to Refuse Service

New Moon Energy & Massage Therapy LLC reserves the right to refuse service for any reason.   Any inappropriate behavior towards the therapist will result in ending the session early and the client will be responsible for the full cost of the appointment.

Specialized treatments and certain populations require additional intake forms, these are available under “Intake Forms.”  Some treatments may be contraindicated.

Please be aware massage therapy cannot replace proper medical care and is not used to diagnose medical conditions.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a very gentle stretching of the skin to encourage the movement of lymph fluid into the lymph nodes and anastamoses (drains).  This specialty service is often recommended before or after surgery, especially if the lymph nodes have been impacted, but it can help reduce fluid retention in anyone.  These fluids and waste are flushed out through the urinary system, leading to a slimming effect and reduction in swelling.   This technique can be soothing, but is not massage of the muscles.  Light activity and hydration help support lymphatic drainage.

During the session you will be comfortably positioned on the massage table, dressed to your level of comfort.  MLD can be done over athletic clothing, a tank top and shorts, or with appropriate draping to keep you secure.   The private room will be warm and have ambient lighting and music.

Following the session, please follow the aftercare plan provided, along with doctor‘s compression garment/bandaging instructions, in the case of post-surgical treatment.  Some clients experience a delayed response to massage as the body adjusts, depending on each individual and the treatments provided.

Wood Therapy contouring treatments involve vigorous movement of tools over lubricated skin.  With a goal of manipulating fascia, breaking up connective tissue adhesions, and increasing circulation, the procedure can be uncomfortable and result in mild bruising, but can show results when scheduled regularly.

Cupping is a therapy involving applying suction to the skin with cups.   It can improve the appearance of cellulite and give a non-invasive "face-lift" by improving circulation, stimulating lymphatic drainage, and potentially releasing connective tissue adhesions.   Cupping can leave you with a glow and immediate results.   Cupping can be used for cosmetic as well as therapeutic results.

Holistic Faceli employs buccal massage to focus on the muscles of facial expression and can be performed intra-oral (inside the mouth) or outside of the mouth and cheeks.  Intraoral work is performed with gloves, observing Universal Precautions.  The Holistic Facelift also includes gentle Lymphatic drainage to reduce fluid retention in the face, scalp, and neck, along with Myofascial Release which involves a slow deep pressure to help relax and retrain the muscles.  This service may include the use of cupping or gua sha.  Some of the benefits of this service can include:  reduced pain in the face, neck, and head, reduction in fluid retention, decreased appearance of lines, increase in facial symmetry, improved circulation, and a lifted-look.

Following the session, please follow the aftercare plan provided.  Some clients experience a delayed response to massage as the body adjusts, depending on each individual and the treatments provided.  These modalities can cause mild bruising or vacuum marks and soreness which are temporary.

Please be aware that contouring treatments cannot replace exercise, a healthy diet, or proper medical care, and is not used to diagnose medical conditions.

For your first session, please arrive 10 minutes early to complete your intake paperwork and maximize your Reiki experience.

For in-person sessions, most clients will be positioned comfortably on a massage table in a quiet, warm, dimly lit therapy room. You will be fully clothed.  Reiki can be performed hands on or with the practitioners hands above the client's body. I will describe the hand positioning before the session.  Reiki can also be performed in distance sessions.  You will select a comfortable, quiet location in your own home.  You and I will schedule a virtual meeting, phone conversation, or communicate via email to prepare and follow-up.

During the session the experience can vary from person to person.  People often feel warmth, but some other common experiences include subtle pulsations/tingling where the practitioner's hands are placed, while others have pleasant visualizations.

Following a session, people often comment on how comforting the Reiki experience is for them.  Some people enter a deep dream-like meditative state. Sometimes the Reiki experience is dramatic, while for other people, especially the first session, it can be uneventful.  The most common experience is an almost immediate release of stress and a feeling of deep relaxation, a sense of peace, mental clarity, and improved sleep.  Reiki is cumulative and even people who don't notice much the first time tend to have progressively deeper experiences as they continue. Although people usually leave a Reiki session refreshed, they sometimes find that they are more tired than usual in the evening. This is not considered a harmful effect, but rather a part of the natural healing response.

Please be aware Reiki cannot replace proper medical care and is not used to diagnose or treat medical conditions.

For your first session, please arrive 15 minutes early to complete your intake paperwork and maximize your Yoga session.

You may choose to bring your own yoga mat and props or use ours.  Props are a great way of achieving deeper relaxation and stretches.  Blankets, blocks, and other support tools can assist your body in each pose, making the practice even more comfortable and enjoyable.  Dress in clothes that allow you to move freely and feel relaxed. Comfort is key in yin and restorative yoga.

You will be coached, one-on-one, in a warm and comforting environment.  You will follow along and gradually learn the poses and the flow of the practice.  As you become more experienced  you will relax more deeply, release tension, and nurture balance and calm in your body and mind.

Both Yin and Restorative yoga are slower, and hold asanas (positions) longer than Vinyasa or Hatha yoga.  There are a couple of differences to note when selecting your service:

Yin yoga uses gentle body weight pressure against props to reach and release the fascia layers.  Asanas may be held for several minutes.  You will spend time seated, reclined, or laying on your mat.  Yin yoga pairs well with massage to help you find relief and reach your healing goals.

Restorative yoga is a quiet, introspective practice. It encourages slow, gentle movements and the use of props to fully support the body in each pose.  Restorative yoga gives you the space to find calm and relaxation by supporting your parasympathetic nervous system.

Please be aware Yoga cannot replace proper medical care and is not used to diagnose or treat medical conditions.

Currently, I am not very actively engaged with social media and hope to reach potential clients primarily via word-of-mouth using a "slow business" model.  Your positive experience and referrals are important to me.

Slow business embraces quality over quantity, and values purpose.  My commitment is to each individual client, making lasting connections, and providing individualized, empathetic service.

This might not be the right practice for every business owner or client.  I appreciate that, and I understand that I may need to adjust in the future.  However, in this moment, I am honoring my personal values.  I promise to hold space for your unique needs and provide the attentive level of service you deserve.

At this time, I am only able to sell certain services through my website.  However, you are always welcome to book a "Consultation/Discount Redemption/Product Pick-up" appointment to pick up products, Gift Certificates, discuss & schedule packages, and redeem discounts.  Gift Certificates are now available for purchase online.

Alternatively, I can provide an email/text pay-link payment options to book packages, redeem discounts, or claim Gift Certificates (for gift recipients to apply to their online booking).

Gift Certificates and discounts can now be issued with a single-use coupon code.  Call, text, or email if you have questions.

Special Discounts:

  • Pre-paid package -  buy 5, get the 6th session free
  • Customer loyalty discounts - after 10 sessions, get the 11th free
  • Other special seasonal promotions

For certain services you may now select Add-ons along with the service.  If you would like to book a  different Add-on treatment to your session, please be aware that all massage, Reiki, and yoga sessions include a 15-20 minute buffer built in to the schedule, so scheduling conflicts may occur.   Please follow the steps below.

Steps to book online:

1.  Put your Add-on in the cart first at your desired start time.

2.  Add your Massage, Reiki, or Yoga session to the cart at the next time slot (15 minutes later than your start time).

This will not change your scheduled session times,  however your confirmation will reflect an extra 15 minutes because it is automated by this website.

For example - 9:00am Hot Stone, 9:15am 60 min. Massage will show you booked from 9:00-10:15am, but your actual session includes the Add-on, but not additional service time.   Our time together would be from 9:00-10:00am

I realize that is confusing and clunky.  Please feel free to call, text, or email to book your time slot and I will send an email/text pay-link payment.

I am happy to accept HSA/FSA credit card payments; your registered card will work just like a credit card on this site.  Please check with your provider for specific guidelines and be aware of your own tax obligations, limitations, medical referral, and documentation requirements.   I cannot provide tax or healthcare advice.  Your card must be registered through your provider, here is a helpful video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcRpfyLd2gQ
